Creating a cohesive body of work with contrasting focuses, like Graphic Design and Ceramics, is no easy feat, however Jess Hanley targets the fundamental aspects of both in her 2D and 3D work. Her eclectic background of mixed-media such as wheel throwing, graphic design, drawing, metalwork, printmaking and digital fabrication appear throughout her work as underlying motifs. Above all else, Jess Hanley finds serenity through process and creating something with which the viewer can share an experience. She defines her work as a craft and is always exploring new techniques and processes.
